how the sausage is made

Here's a pretty handy document on how we'll be producing the multimedia pieces for the Workshop using Final Cut Pro. This is great to download and keep.

awards already

Just to toot the horn for the home team but MediaStorm, who is responsible for the MultiMedia part of the Eddie Adams Workshop this year, just won their first Emmy award.

If you have not seen Kingsley's Crossing, the award winning piece, check it out now! It is powerful stuff.

See you all in a week

LissenUp (please)

If you have audio gear of any kind: recorder, microphone, headphones, please bring it to the workshops.

If you want to be inspired by some mind-blowingly great storytelling on the radio, check out this episode of WNYC's RadioLab called "Morality" and listen to the first 4 minutes.

Would you push the man?

Listen carefully to see how they've built a simple conversation into a rich tapestry with a ton of establishing sounds layered into the background during every second of this piece.

See how audio can twist your emotions and make you think.

Now just add pictures!!!

Cheers,

p.s. Transom.org is also great resource for all things audio.

Hey Blue Team!

Thanks to you who have answered my email about your multimedia skills and have sent me links to your multimedia projects.

And for those who have not, check your email!

Here are a few links for you! Check out last year's multimedia projects.

The piece titled EddieAdams_2006_Yellow_1 (below) won Sonya Herbert an internship at the Dallas Morning News where she was just hired as a staff photographer. So multimedia can be gooood thing.

And here's something to chew on from Media Storm: Why and How to Gather Audio documents.

See you in a week!
